Lotte Schwerdtfeger’s practice is a Romantic exploration of the simulated physical world in a makeshift studio. Her small sculptures are invented markers of a distant and unfathomable geological time frame. The imagined artifacts of scientific investigation are simularcrum of archeological finds, crystals and geological formations. Carefully positioned in the Branch window space they create a theatrical grotto. Crafted from ephemeral materials, Cave of Faux-gotten Dreams evokes childish dreams of candy lands and New Age magic.Cave of Faux-gotten Dreams 2013
